About Hay El Matar
With 3 new 15m episodes every week, Hay El Matar goes behind the headlines to show Syrian life as it is lived today. From Wajd, displaced from the north and trying to start a new life, to Archi, struggling to hang onto the restaurant business she’s always dreamt of. From Assaf, wielding power at the checkpoint, to Rashid, in hiding and fearing for his life; the stories delve into all aspects of life in Syria today.
Not only is this entertaining and insightful drama, it also breaks established patterns, going beyond the traditional stereotypes and exploring the everyday issues that affect Syrian people, whatever their background or allegiance.
Hay El Matar is produced by BBC Media Action in partnership with Batoota Films and with the financial support of the EU.
